An anti-immigration rally in Bristol spilled over into violence on Saturday (June 4) after protesters clashed with anti-fascist demonstrators and police.

Hundreds of police attempted to keep both sides apart, but as tensions rose, protesters were seen becoming increasingly aggressive. I've not done this kind of photography before, but thought I would give it a go. I have to say the police where extremely supportive of allowing me access to the street.

As the protest got closer, I found myself looking to get to the best angle (not easy in a wheelchair) and I ended up falling backwards while trying to navigate a curb. All I could think about was protecting my camera, but people near by where so supportive and helped me back into my chair and I carried on as if nothing had happen.

Not sure I would do this kind of thing again, but who knows.
